Day 06

We started the day with a change of passengers, Val stayed with the group to continue from  Zambezi Lodge Katima into Zimbabwe, whilst Walter stayed behind with Ian to assist with the change of the MG’s clutch plate. We travelled from Namibia’s northern border at Ngoma Bridge into Botswana and then into Zimbabwe at Kazangula. We then experienced the sublime moments watching the Victoria Falls cascades with rainbows bridging the enormous chasms between Zambia and Zimbabwe. High tea at the Victoria Falls Hotel was an apt and memorable celebration of this milestone in our journey. We continued to Hwange Safari Lodge and were treated to a braai next to a waterhole of peaceful  elephants. Walter, our mechanical magician, had managed to use a Toyota  release bearing found at a Rundu spare part dealer. He modified it to fit into the old bearing hub. Congratulations!
